bounded definitions

any system defined by a set of variables which have a finite range for every descriptive variable. Such definitions do not suppose that actual boundaries exist or that the bounds set on each variable are within regions at which a significant change in the system may occur. Use of bounded definitions can be helpful when studying reactive systems where local continuity exists.
