converted hotel suite in the financial district, Manhattan
march 4, 2007
This session will always be remarkable to me as my first opportunity to create an optical reaction upon a clean-shaven head. Under certain conditions, the model’s skull formed a shiny spot that initiated a cascade of color down her neck and back. The limitations imposed by the location (a small hotel suite in the financial district of Manhattan) and my relative lack of experience and equipment made it impossible to cover this 6-ft. tall model in light. But there were moments of incredible color evolution that can only occur when hair is completely removed from the skin.
